Welcome to CARSE!
The Center for Advanced Radio Sciences and Engineering established in 2022 through a Cooperative Agreement with the National Science Foundation to facilitate spectrum sharing and coexistence through technology solutions that mitigate radio frequency interference in scientific receivers and improve their robustness to radio frequency interference.
About Us
CARSE hosts a diverse and interdisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and educators in the areas of microwave and millimeter-wave antennas, circuits, and systems, reconfigurable hardware and embedded systems, digital signal processing, radio astronomy, and atmospheric sciences. CARSE provides an inclusive environment for faculty, students, and scientific, industrial, and government partners to conduct cutting edge research and development on technologies for radio science applications; cultivate pathways for professionals fluent in both the technology and science needs; sustain an innovation and collaboration ecosystem that supports co-creation of research with industrial and scientific partners; and promote, as a foundational element, equity, diversity and inclusion in all activities within and beyond the Center community.
core Partners
CARSE is building an innovation and collaboration ecosystem meshing radio sciences, engineering and education, and providing a framework for workforce development in radio sciences and engineering.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
CARSE is proud to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all activities within and beyond the Center community, as a center foundational element. Through our DEI Officer, we provide training to all CARSE participants. We are partnering with the UPRM Center for University Access to reach out to support their educational justice program with neighboring communities, and with NRAO and SpectrumX to support different DEI initiatives.
