Dr. Rafael Rodríguez Solís Presents CARSE Advances in Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Systems at Astrophysics Seminar

The Center for Advanced Radio Sciences and Engineering (CARSE) was recently featured as part of the Astrophysics Circle of Puerto Rico Seminar Series, hosted at the University of Puerto Rico – Río Piedras.

During the seminar, Dr. Rafael Rodríguez Solís, Director and Principal Investigator of CARSE, presented an overview of the Center’s mission, development, and recent advances in both research and education.

Established in January 2022 through a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant, CARSE focuses on the development of integrated tools and enabling technologies in radio frequency (RF) systems, embedded systems, and digital signal processing. The Center aims to address challenges related to radio frequency interference (RFI) and improve the performance of scientific receivers used in radio science observations.

In his talk, Dr. Rodríguez Solís highlighted CARSE’s interdisciplinary approach, which brings together expertise in engineering and science to better understand the needs of the radio science community, identify technological limitations, and develop sustainable solutions.

The presentation also emphasized ongoing work in microwave and millimeter-wave systems, key areas for advancing next-generation communication systems and scientific instrumentation.

This seminar provided an opportunity for students and researchers to gain insight into CARSE’s role in advancing radio sciences in Puerto Rico and fostering collaboration across institutions.
